Socio-economic development and the causes that affected the United States during World War II

Abstract

The Second World War (1939-1945) had a huge impact on the United States, becoming a turning point in its socio-economic development. The purpose of this article is to explore the impact of World War II on the U.S. economy and society, as well as to identify key factors that contributed to the transformation of this country into one of the world leaders after the end of the conflict. An interdisciplinary approach was used for the analysis, including historical, economic and sociological research methods. The source database consists of archival documents, wartime statistics, as well as the works of leading researchers on the topic. Macroeconomic indicators, changes in the manufacturing sector, employment structure and social shifts in society were analyzed. The study revealed that the Second World War dramatically changed the economic landscape of the United States. The introduction of military production contributed to the growth of industry, virtually eliminating the unemployment characteristic of the Great Depression. Mechanisms for socio-economic mobility have been established, including through the involvement of women and African Americans in the workforce. In addition, the war had a significant impact on innovation in technology and infrastructure. Geographical isolation, access to vast resources, and effective mobilization of economic and human assets are among the key factors contributing to the success of the United States. The socio-economic development of the United States during the war years proved to be an important stage in shaping the country's current status as a global superpower. Effective economic strategies and social reforms accelerated the recovery from the crisis and sustained growth, laying the foundations for post-war prosperity.
