The impact of remote work: technological development

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the impact of technological development on remote work and consider the key factors contributing to its spread in various industries. In the context of the significant growth of remote work in recent years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a growing need to study how modern technologies have changed the interaction between employees and companies, as well as gain an understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of this form of employment. The section of this paper discusses the prerequisites for the introduction of remote work, which are associated with accelerated digitalization and the improvement of information and communication technologies. The issues related to the need for effective management models in distributed teams are outlined. The study describes the quantitative and qualitative analysis of data collected through surveys of employees of various companies using remote work models. The sample of respondents, methods of data collection (online questionnaires and interviews), as well as ways of analyzing information using statistical methods are described. The article presents the main conclusions of the study. It has been established that technological solutions such as cloud services, video conferencing and remote access platforms provide stable working conditions outside the office. Among the advantages, respondents noted flexible working hours, reduced travel time, and improved work-life balance. However, factors such as deteriorating teamwork, increased demands for self-discipline, and cybersecurity issues were also highlighted as significant. The study also examines both the positive and negative aspects of remote work. In conclusion, assumptions are made about the further development of technologies and an increase in demand for remote work formats is predicted.
