Abstract

With the rapid development of technology and urbanization, the concept of smart cities has become one of the most important areas of innovative design of urban spaces. This article examines the impact of technological mechanisms, especially taking into account the design methodology in the field of information technology (IT) and telecommunications, on the development of innovative ecosystems of smart cities. The relevance of the topic is due to the need to optimize infrastructure to improve the quality of life and sustainable development of urban regions. To achieve the purpose of the research, modern design and modeling methodologies in the IT and telecommunications sectors are used in the work. Interdisciplinary approaches have been applied, including elements of system analysis, project management, and big data analysis methods. An empirical study was conducted on the example of the development of innovative ecosystems in a number of smart cities, which made it possible to assess the practical effectiveness of the technological mechanisms used. The results of the study demonstrated that the formation of innovative ecosystems in smart cities is directly related to the use of technological mechanisms, in particular, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and next-generation telecommunications infrastructure (5G and higher). It has been established that the successful integration of these technologies contributes to the optimization of management processes, reducing operating costs and increasing the social sustainability of the population. The article also highlights the importance of applying design approaches at the early stages of design to minimize risks and accelerate the implementation of innovative solutions. The authors emphasize the importance of an integrated approach to planning and implementing technological mechanisms for the development of smart cities. The key success factors have been identified: the use of modern IT methodologies, adaptation to local features, and active interaction between participants in the innovation ecosystem. The results obtained can be used in further research and implementation of smart city projects.
