Abstract

The purpose of this article is to study the role of digitalization in trade processes to improve the efficiency of logistics systems in Russia. In recent years, digitalization has become an integral part of the development of modern economies, and the logistics sector is no exception. The research focuses on how the introduction of digital technologies helps to optimize the operation of logistics processes and increase the competitiveness of enterprises. The Introduction section describes the main problems of the logistics sector in Russia, such as a high degree of market fragmentation, a low level of automation and the need to increase the transparency of the system. The rationale is given that digitalization can solve many of these problems. The research methods include the analysis of scientific literature, statistical data on the use of digital technologies in the field of logistics and trade processes, as well as case studies of Russian companies that have already carried out a digital business transformation. The results show that digital platforms such as transportation management systems (TMS), as well as big data and artificial intelligence technologies, significantly reduce operating costs, reduce human errors and improve the quality of service. Examples of successful application of these technologies in Russia include the introduction of automated warehouse systems and the use of blockchain to optimize supply chains. The Discussion highlights that, along with the advantages, there are certain barriers to the introduction of digitalization, such as a lack of technical training and high initial investments. The article also examines what additional measures of support from the state and business are necessary for further development. The final conclusions emphasize that digitalization is a key factor contributing to the achievement of greater efficiency of logistics systems in Russia, which is critically important for sustainable economic growth.
