Legal risks in modern business: analysis and minimization strategies

Abstract

Modern businesses face numerous legal risks that may threaten their operations and stability. The legal environment for companies is becoming increasingly complex due to globalization, changes in legislation, increased international regulatory influence and growing compliance requirements. The purpose of this article is to analyze the main legal risks faced by modern companies and to offer effective strategies to minimize them. For the study, analytical methods were used, such as the study of judicial practice, comparative analysis of legislation of various jurisdictions and the case method. The main attention was paid to the risks associated with violation of corporate and tax legislation, compliance regulation, protection of intellectual property and the negative impact of international sanctions. The study revealed that the key legal challenges for business in the current environment are: 1) insufficient compliance with corporate governance standards; 2) errors in tax planning; 3) violation of copyright and patent legislation; 4) sanctions restrictions. It has been established that effective strategies for minimizing legal risks include the implementation of internal compliance systems, regular audit of the company's legal activities, the formation of anti-crisis teams, and training for employees on the basics of corporate law. The analysis shows that companies that actively invest in legal protection and innovations in the field of compliance reduce the likelihood of legal problems by 35-50% compared to enterprises that ignore these aspects. It is also important to take into account regional and sectoral features of legal regulation in order to develop adapted risk management strategies. The use of the strategies developed in the article will allow businesses not only to minimize legal risks, but also to strengthen competitive advantages. In the future, detailed development of mechanisms for implementing these strategies is required.
