Abstract

This scientific article examines the economic advantages and challenges associated with the implementation of additive technologies (AT), also known as 3D printing, in modern manufacturing. The authors analyze in detail how innovative technologies affect the economic efficiency of production, cost reduction, and overall competitiveness of enterprises. The economic benefits of implementing AT in manufacturing include a significant reduction in the time required to develop and produce new products. This is achieved through the possibility of rapid iteration and prototyping, allowing companies to quickly respond to market changes and consumer demands. Additionally, the use of additive technologies leads to lower material costs due to optimized raw material usage and minimized production waste. An important aspect of the article is the analysis of the flexibility of the production process provided by additive technologies. Unlike traditional methods, 3D printing allows for the production of complex-shaped items with individual characteristics without the need for special tooling. This opens up new opportunities for product customization and small-batch production, which is particularly relevant for industries focused on unique and high-precision items, such as medical equipment and the aerospace industry. However, the authors also highlight a number of challenges and limitations associated with the implementation of AT. The main ones are the high costs of acquiring specialized equipment and software, the need for training qualified personnel, and the technical limitations of the technologies themselves, such as size and material constraints. Furthermore, the authors emphasize the importance of developing new standards and regulations to ensure the quality and safety of products manufactured using additive methods. In conclusion, the article emphasizes that despite the existing challenges, the potential of additive technologies to transform modern manufacturing is enormous. Proper integration of these technologies can significantly enhance the efficiency and innovativeness of production processes, ensuring the sustainable development of enterprises in the long term.
