A study of Sino-Russian relations within the framework of the concept of a community of shared future for mankind

Abstract

In recent decades, Sino-Russian relations have undergone significant transformation and have acquired new dynamics, driven by global changes in the system of international relations. The concept of a community of shared future for mankind, proposed by China, is becoming an important philosophical and practical tool for rethinking multilateral cooperation, including the connection between Russia and China. The aim of the study is to analyze the development of Sino-Russian relations through the prism of this concept. The article employs a comprehensive approach combining theoretical analysis, historical-political method, and the principle of a systematic approach to comparing bilateral and global factors. The study is based on the analysis of key documents, official government statements, and existing scientific literature. The conducted analysis shows that the concept of a community of shared future for mankind supports the strengthening of partnership relations between Russia and China amidst changing geopolitical challenges. Initiatives by both countries, including joint projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure, science, and security, align with a general strategy for creating a multipolar world. China and Russia, positioning themselves as a counterbalance to a unipolar system, strive to form a model of interaction emphasizing mutual respect for sovereignty and consideration of national interests. Despite deepening cooperation, challenges remain related to differences in economic models, demographic and geopolitical factors. The implementation of the concept requires overcoming these limitations as well as adopting a trust-based approach grounded in transparency and mutual benefit. Analyzing Sino-Russian relations through the concept of a community of shared future for mankind allows us to conclude that these two countries play a key role in building a fair and sustainable model of international relations. Further study of this topic may unveil new prospects for cooperation amid current global challenges.
