Abstract

In the context of the rapid development of the digital economy, the automation of production processes becomes a key factor influencing the development of various industrial sectors. However, alongside the economic benefits of implementing automated systems, there arises the question of the impact of these changes on human capital. This article is dedicated to studying the relationship between the automation of production processes and the development of human capital in industrial enterprises. The study employed a comprehensive approach, including both qualitative and quantitative analysis methods. The research was based on data collected from industrial enterprises in various regions. Surveys and interviews with managers and employees of the enterprises helped identify the main trends and issues related to automation. Statistical data analysis was conducted using SPSS software to identify correlations and dependencies between automation and human capital development. The study results showed that the automation of production processes has both positive and negative impacts on human capital development. On one hand, automation enhances production efficiency, which in turn can lead to increased wages, improved working conditions, and the need for employee skill enhancement. On the other hand, automation can lead to job reductions, potentially causing social tension and necessitating employee adaptation to new working conditions. The discussion of the results emphasizes the importance of a balanced approach to automation, where the economic benefits of automation investments should not lead to the degradation of human capital. The focus is on the need to develop strategies aimed at enhancing employee skills and creating new jobs in areas related to automated processes. The study confirms the complex and multifaceted nature of the relationship between the automation of production processes and human capital development in the digital economy. To ensure sustainable enterprise development, it is recommended to integrate strategic automation planning with measures for the development and support of human capital.
