Optimization of the German language teaching process for technical personnel of machine-building enterprises using context-sensitive techniques

Abstract

The article presents a study on optimizing the process of teaching German to technical personnel of machine-building enterprises using context-sensitive techniques. The relevance of the work is due to the need for enterprises to enter international markets and the urgent need for specialists who are able to work effectively with technical documentation, conduct correspondence and participate in professional discussions in German. The authors emphasize the limitations of traditional approaches that do not take into account the specifics of the industry, and justify the feasibility of integrating language training with real production tasks. The research methodology was based on an interdisciplinary approach combining linguistic concepts, educational psychology and industrial didactics. The key element was close cooperation with enterprises to collect authentic materials (drawings, instructions, technical documentation). The methods of multiple-case analysis, questionnaires, in-depth interviews with managers and focus groups with engineers were used. The effectiveness of the methodology was assessed through quantitative (tests of translation speed/accuracy, level of language competence) and qualitative indicators (monitoring of work processes, communication), using statistical data analysis. The results demonstrate the significant effectiveness of the context-sensitive approach. The level of language competence of the participants increased by 50.42%, translation speed — by 46.81%, translation accuracy — by 19.15%. There was a decrease in the time required to complete technical processes (-12.96%) and a significant increase in employee independence (+81.66%). The qualitative analysis revealed an improvement in listening skills (+61.48%), grammatical correctness of oral speech (+38.66%), reasonableness of statements (+62.02%) and a reduction in reaction time in dialogues. Additionally, there was an increase in the motivation of students and the level of social interaction in teams, which correlates with the success of language acquisition. The findings confirm that immersion in a professional context accelerates the development of specialized terminology and forms stable language skills that directly affect production efficiency. The methodology contributes not only to linguistic progress, but also to increased motivation, team cohesion, and efficiency in solving technological problems. The study offers a practice-oriented learning model that is relevant for improving the competitiveness of machine-building enterprises in the international arena.
