The impact of open innovations on accelerating scientific and technological progress in high-tech industries

This article is dedicated to studying the impact of open innovations on accelerating scientific and technological progress in high-tech industries. In the context of the global economy and rapid technological development, open innovations are becoming an important tool for enterprises seeking to enhance their competitiveness. Research shows that collaboration with external partners allows for the acceleration of the development and implementation processes of new products and services. However, there is a need for an in-depth analysis of this phenomenon to identify the main drivers and barriers to the use of open innovations. To achieve the research objectives, a comprehensive approach was applied, including qualitative and quantitative analysis. The primary research method was the analysis of secondary data obtained from scientific publications, reports, and case studies. Expert interviews were also conducted with representatives of high-tech companies and researchers working in the field of innovation. The data were processed using statistical analysis and thematic analysis methods. The research results showed that open innovations contribute to the acceleration of scientific and technological progress through several key factors. First, external collaboration allows for a reduction in research and development time by sharing knowledge and resources. Second, the use of open innovations significantly increases access to new technologies and markets. Third, such innovations promote the creation of flexible and adaptive project teams, which increases the efficiency of innovation implementation processes. Data analysis showed that despite the clear advantages, the use of open innovations faces several barriers, such as intellectual property protection and organizational complexities. However, successful examples of the application of open innovations demonstrate that with the right approach, these barriers can be overcome. The study confirmed that open innovations are a powerful tool for accelerating scientific and technological progress in high-tech industries. To achieve maximum effect, enterprises need to build strategic partnerships, effectively manage intellectual property, and adapt organizational culture to new conditions.
