Methodological foundations of effective teaching of foreign languages in higher education institutions in the context of globalization

Abstract

In the modern era of globalization, knowledge of foreign languages is becoming an integral factor in the professional and cultural development of specialists. Higher education institutions play an important role in the formation of this competence, which requires an innovative approach to learning. The article discusses the methodological foundations of effective teaching of foreign languages in the context of globalization challenges. It is aimed at improving the educational process, taking into account current trends in global education. The author uses an interdisciplinary approach, combining pedagogical, sociolinguistic and cognitive research methods. The main focus is on the analysis of relevant educational technologies, such as digital platforms, project-based methods, communicative approaches, and the integration of content-based language learning (CLIL). A sociological study was conducted, including surveys of students and teachers, to identify their needs in learning foreign languages. A comparative analysis of the educational programs of the world's leading universities was also used. The results showed that the use of integrated techniques and digital technologies significantly improves the effectiveness of teaching foreign languages. Of particular importance is the focus on the practical application of knowledge, the development of intercultural communication skills and the formation of students' motivation to learn the language independently. It has been found that the introduction of flexible, student-centered approaches increases student achievement and satisfaction. The study highlights the importance of adapting educational strategies to the conditions of globalization. To improve the quality of foreign language teaching in universities, it is necessary to integrate innovative technologies, develop the professional competence of teachers and take into account the needs of students. The approach proposed in the article can be applied in other educational contexts, which makes it a universal tool for improving language training in higher education.
